At least in my experience, success depends a lot on getting the timing right. You basically want to trigger an enemy to attack without hitting you, then hit them a few times while they are on cooldown, then repeat.
It all shapes up into a very inviting experience that teases dense design layers down the road. Even in early access, these feel like the raw materials of a multiplayer survival sim that will draw an enduring audience. I can’t wait to see how it keeps growing.
Once you feel that you have solid equipment, you're going to want to start hunting for Glurch. Glurch is the first boss; it is a giant slime that is constantly jumping in place. You'll have to explore the area around the Core and listen for a slamming sound.
The first time I saw glowing red eyes blinking in the dark in one of the more distant biomes I got so panicked I wound up swinging a berry pudding I had in my inventory instead of my sword. Tunneling into any new area, surrounded by pitch-black darkness and only clearing a path wide enough for yourself can be creepy and claustrophobic.
While it doesn’t reinvent the wheels of its genre, Pugstorm’s Core Keeper emerges confidently out of early access and I’m looking forward to revisiting it over and over again in the coming years.
Aside from selling supplies, the Bearded Merchant sells items that can be used to re-summon certain bosses such as all giant slimes and Ghorm; you simply need to purchase these items and place them on the boss' rune to get them to reappear. Feel free to farm the bosses for fun and profit if you want!

Yes, Co-op is probably only really worth doing if you plan on building a huge base or if youre really struggling. I only have 10 hours in the game but I think ive seen most of what this game has to offer, for now anyway.
I'm running through a dark, narrow tunnel just as fast as my little legs will take me. The last time I ran this fast for this long it was because I'd stepped into a chamber coated with slime, heard a deep rumble, and Core Keeper Gameplay saw a glowing centipede the size of a jumbo jet scrabbling out of the darkness at me. I turned and ran and didn't stop until I'd gotten all the way back to my base.
Pretty much all enemies spawn based on the tiles placed on the ground. If you remove them, enemies won't spawn in that area any longer. Each type of tile spawns different kinds of enemies; you can collect these tiles and place them down elsewhere in order to make monster farms.
Scarlet tools Step up mining and digging damage, while the Scarlet Hoe has a 3x3 tile area, currently the best.
